Just wanted to show off my new Retained Struck Through on a 1964 Canadian cent that I pulled out of a bank bag that had been sealed from the mint since 64.
There's a small piece of copper embedded above the Queen's eyebrow.

Ikandiggit: Very nice error. I edited your image a bit to remove the squashed look to it. See what you think?

That looks great! Ever since I lost photoshop, I feel like a beginner with editing.

Barry, that is nice! Too bad the large cents don't come in "mint-sealed bags". LOL
I didn't know they were still available. Of course I am thinking in terms of the way things are done down here. that could make a tremendous difference.
Cheers,

Canadian cents from 1964 are small cents - not large cents. Large cents hadn't been produced at that time for over 40 years.

Hi Chuck!
Evidently I didn't make it very clear. It was based on a post on another forum, to the effect that they had bought a "mint sealed bag" of small cents, (Canadian).
My response was to the effect that we can't buy mint sealed bags of cents. (From the mint, directly), if at all anymore. Referring to the $50.00 bags
The large cent was coined from 1858 until 1920, and that was the last year. The small cent was first struck that year, and is being coined to this day. I collect both.
The Victorian era, is very loaded with varieries.
There is believed to be over 400 varieties in the 1859, alone. Several people are working on them. There is a new set of books on them, that covers the 1858, and 1859/8. Most are busy with the 1859 Narrow nine.
Rob Turner has published a very complete set of books, "Dies and Diadems, 1858 Cents, and 1858 Cents Vol. 2. I can provide a link, if anyone desires.

Ahh, okay. Misunderstanding.
The $50 sealed bags ended in the United States as of 2001. I'm not sure about Canada.

Hi Barry! Thank you for the info.
I never thought to ask about the voluume in a bag. I just "took it for granted", (bad ide), that the bags were $50.00.
Like I sai, if I learn something new today, the day has not been wasted.
