Gary, I too have been down that road! I had three American wives, but they didn't measure up, so I went elsewhere, also, and brought her home with me! she is a good woman, and an excellent wife. she has put up with me, and my ways for over 55 years, so I guess she will be the last one.
"Made in USA, does not always mean the best".
Take good care of him, Cathy, he is a "keeper"!

Thanks Dick
and I agree with you 200% he is a keeper and the best Man I have had the Pleasure to have in my life. they don't come better but he said you are closing in on him.
like the guy on Beatlejuice said I LOVE THAT MAN OF MINE. but even he has his day's when i want to pop his head like a pimple haha.
Gary said to stop it that this is a coin site and not match.com lol but he said if i mention a coin it will be OK so i am looking at a 1986 penny dos that work lol
thanks all for the help and friendship that you all continue to give my Man if he didn't have you good people to dump on now and then i would have killed him by now for sure
Cathy

Sorry, Cathy, I was thinking Gary, and not Cathy. They are the Canadian large cents that were used during the 1858-1901, during Queen Vuctoria's rule.

To remove the corrosion you can try a jewelry ultrasonic cleaner... Same process the mint uses to clean planchets bofore striking!!!

jfines69,
Thanks for the reply.
Now the question is, where does one obtain one of them, and about how much $$$$?
I am not a mint, although I once was called sweet. That was before my wife married me. I believe there is a different term, she uses now.....

I was not aware they were that low priced!
Thanks for the info.
BTW How effective are they? I have some coins that are pretty scroungy!

I had a 1989 LC that was covered in all kinds of garbage - sticky stuff, corrosion and unidetifiable items - and it removed almost all of it... The other coins I have used it on I would say 95+ percent of everything was removed... Be careful though... I forgot I had some coins in it and left them overnight and the petina came off... The most I normally leave really bad coins in for is 5 cycles... Each cycle is about 5 minutes... Then I rinse them really good... The stuff that was left over came off with goo-gone!!!

Hi Cathy!
I wish I could answer your question. He is iin good hands, so maybe it is just a matter of time.
jfines69, I'll look around and see If I can locate one. I have some that I wondered if a "jack-hammer" would be enough.
If not, I got some "hawthorns" fron another collector. They are sharp! And about the same size as a needle.

You can also try brasso... put a drop on both sides and let it soak for about 15 seconds... Use a qtip and roll across the coin to help pull up some of the gunk... Wash with warm soapy water... Then pat dry... Repeat if you need to... Brasso does not pit or cause scratches in the surface... Just remember that with any type of cleaner that the petina can come off if you do to much!!!

That is good advice. If I should ever get some coins thatI want to keep nice and pretty, I'll give it a whirl. The onex I have, won't be hurt, even If I use 600 grit sandpaper.
