The Florida United Numismatic (FUN) show is one of the nation's largest coin shows and is looked forward to every year by people eager to see what is happening in the world of coins. It is also considered by many to be the bell weather or forecaster of how shows held later in the year are likely to turn out.
The FUN show always has high attendance with the 2009 Convention being no exception boasting an attendance over 10,000 visitors and 800 plus dealer tables. As an added plus, the weather is fantastic in Florida for this time of year.
This year’s FUN show will be held in Tampa at the Tampa Convention Center, from the 6th to the 9th of January, 2011. For more information on this coin show please use this provided link. http://www.funtopics.com/Fun_Show/FUNshow.html
CONECA and NCADD will have a combined table, # 246, at the FUN show and will have Jeanie & BJ Neff, Mark Lighterman and Bob Piazza in attendance. The main purpose for our presence at these shows is to provide information to the numismatic public on both organizations. We also serve a secondary purpose by proving information and assisting people on error and variety coins. We offer free verbal attributions for error and variety coins brought to us for examination.
So, if you are in the neighborhood and at the FUN show, stop on by and say hello. We always enjoy talking with our club members.

I'm going to see if I can make it, but not sure. Probably a 50/50 chance.

Hey Smed...Passed through your home town today on my way to Tampa. Sitting in the parking lot at the airport waiting to pick Jeff up.
Was at BobP's house last night...unfortunately he might not make it to the show. Bummer five times over. He's been trying to come to this show for years and something comes up every time.

You must have taken the long way around if you came thru here on the way to TIA! Zephyrhills isn't near anything or the quick way to anywhere...
You shoulda let me know you were coming thru -- we could've met up for a little while.
Hopefully see ya at the show!

I had fun at FUN. Finally found BJ -- I was looking for the CONECA table in the listings and that's not what it's called now! I had to walk around until I saw him. Talked with him and his better half for a little bit.
Didn't see Chuck, but I asked BJ to tell him I said hi.
Good show, but there didn't seem to be as many tables as previous years.

Since we are representing both CONECA and NCADD, we went with "Error and Variety coin information center".
The show was great, but I did not get to walk around that much, just to darn busy. I attributed well over 400 coins during the show, most of which were error coins.

It turned out to be one of the best shows I have ever attended. I ended up with a large number of higher grade early date Lincolns along with over 40 slabbed Lincolns. I also got to photograph one of the nicest Lincoln cent collections in existence. Had a great time and kicked off the year in great fashion!
