Dick,
It's something different than comparing the TPGs.
My simplest way of explaining it is:
PCGS graded coins get the most money when you sell, NGC is next.
ANACs is a different thing all together. Their grading is within reason but on a high dollar coin it sells for less.
BUT.... PCGS and NGC only attribute certain well known varieties. ANACs will (I think) attribute any of the well known varieties that PCGS or NGC will PLUS any Coneca listed variety or any of the varieties listed here on Coppercoins.
--------------------------------------------------
The key thing about the WAMs and CAMs is that those reverse dies are very different. It's not only the AM but the AM is what people focused on. Like CD said, the lettering is different.
If you want to see it look at a regular 1992 and compare it with a 1993. The 1992 will have the wide AM reverse and the 1993 will have the close AM reverse. Throw one of each on your scope and you'll see how different they are (AM space and everything else as mentioned). You don't need the rare one's to see it, compare those 2 years.

Hi ED, NTNS!
Yes, that is exactly what I used to do. I still did not ever see one that did not conform to one, or the other, and gave it up.
It is like trying to see something coming directly at you, or going directly away, no sense of movement,,because there is nothing to see. Now change the scenario to crossing from the side, yes very visible, and able to track it. That is my situation, and so they don't want me to drive. I don't see why there is a problem? If they can see me, then get out of the way! LOL
CD has a good point, and I had never tried the "TAT", angle. I will try it, just for the experience. Later, when I come back yo the US cents, that will be prominantly placed!
Cheers,
