In searching some rolls I have of the 1960 d small date I found about a dozen of these. It looks like it could be a die gouge, or an RPM. Any thoughts on this one? Thanks

The "1" and the "6" look like a Doubled Die to me.

That is a normal date for a small date 1960 Lincoln cent. As for the mint mark anomaly, I believe it to be die scratches or small die chips that are seen and not another D mint mark.

PS - Nice picture

PPS - And while you are looking at the small date 1960 Lincoln cent, check this link to see if you have something similar to what is shown;

It does look interesting. I'm not sure it's a RPM. But maybe Bob will want to check it out?

It looks like it might be a small/large, but don't take that to the bank.
Noice picture!

It's just a small date.

They all have that extra thing on the inside curl of the 6.
It's normal.

I don't think it's an RPM, and here's why:

1. The shape, size, etc. of the mark doesn't look like a D at all.

2. There's a long die gouge on the coat.

3. There's evidence of die gouges on the date.

This appears to be related to the die gouges...not an RPM.
