I'm not sure if this is doubling on this 60P small date, or just odd placed die gouges. Look on the top right outside of the 9 and the inside lower right of the 0. Any opinions?

Unfortunately that's common, and generally shows better on early die state coins. Later die state coins generally either show it very mushy or not at all. I believe it is master die doubling, but am not completely certain because it doesn't show on ALL 1960D small date dies - and I don't know how many master dies were used for that particular issue.

Anyhow, I frequently see the anomaly you are pointing out.

Thanks for the reply Chuck. Most of the roll showed the markings NW of the 9, but only 3 coins showed the marking inside the 0. What a mess these coins are- there are gouges and Master die doubling all over the coin. Thanks again Chuck-John
