Looking thru some circ. Lincoln's, I noticed this 37P that shows some apparent strike doubling. But after giving it the once over, it has me looking at it twice. I see some MD with some die deterioration, but before I throw this back into the jar can anyone see anything else here. This is one of those few times I want Chuck to tell me I am wrong Embarassed

JRocco,
I believe there are at least 10 known Class 2 doubled die obverses for 1937P, and also a lot of strike doubling for that year also. Based on your photos, I do not see anything that would lead me to believe you have a doubled die, but adequate proof of strike/mecanical doubling. In addition, it is really tough to pick out a lot of those doubled dies on anything other than an XF or better coin. The spreads are pretty light and difficult to see...even on an MS coin.
I know it won't make you feel a lot better, but your photos are pretty nice.

The "R" and the "U" look like textbook machine/strike doubling to me.

I agree Robert, its the "extra metal" under the U and S that bugged me. The strike doubling is to the west-southwest, the extra stuff is to the south-southeast.
And Bob---You underestimate how I respect your opinions-YOU DID make me feel good Very Happy
