The forum was hacked this morning by imps with nothing better to do with their life than make other people's life inconvenient.
In the process of backing up the system, we had to go back 13 days to get the forum active again. In the process, we have upgraded to a newer, more secure version of the forum.
Unfortunately we have lost a number of posts in the process, and have lost a couple of valid members. I hope they read this thread and see that they have not been forcefully removed.
We are continuing to work with bringing our backups to a more current daily level, but cannot ascertain that the backups will work 100 percent until something like this happens and we have to use them.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

That is so childish. I do not see what a person gains by doing something like that.

How RUDE! I was a member lost! LOL Was scratching my head half the night trying to figure out why my user id and password wouldn't work.
Hackers make no sense to me. Why would they hack into coppercoins? There is no finicial info here. Why not pick on someone who deserves it?
ANyway, thanks for the heads up! Glad to be back!

Sad part was, I thought it was MY puter that was hacked for awhile there. I've had those stupid browser hacks from spyware. I darn near dumped my system til it dawned on me that it really might be something else. Sorry it happened!!

AMEN to that! We have had so many problems here lately with our ISP server going down that we thought the problem was on our end.
Our systems have been being attacked by that stupid ADWARE crap here recently, that is really annoying.

As with things that are good, there is always the bad. The age of the Internet has dawned and with it came all sorts of snakes in the grass; the ones who try to get your money are the worst, followed by the prideful, who with their ability, mess things up just to be boastful of their accomplishment
My wife and I (we each run a different ebay account) do not go a week without receiving some sort of notice from Ebay or PayPal that there is something wrong with our accounts and please tie into the link that is provided to correct the error. What a laugh, but yet, people fall for this scam.
My suggestion to all; if you run across something like this, REPORT IT. The only way to stop this type of person is to shut them down and take away their PC's

Sounds familiar Robert!
My wife and I are always getting things saying that we have a suspended account or added this email address or what have you. Sometimes more than 3 a day are reported by us to Spoof at either Ebay or Paypal.
A sad state of affairs, but it happens none the less. A friend of ours who is 73 and got started selling on Ebay a few months ago was hijacked because she didn't now any better than to punch in her id and PW.
Hopefully, the more we report, the more are shutdown.

we use the Yahoo toolbar for popup blocks and VCOM system suite for firewall protection. Seems to work great. Have not found an effective spam blocker yet. Either they block nothing, or block everything and never get any mail.
But yes, please report any and all suspicious e-mail. It will help protect you and others like you.

Unless the email refers to you by NAME it's probably no good. Paypal and it's no-goodnick parent company will always use your name in any email they send. Forward paypal fakes to spoof@paypal.com and epay emails to the email address Robert posted.

As a result of having to restore the data back 13 days, Inculpata's ban was backed out. I received a PM from the user once again spamming, so I am deleting the username altogether.

Hey Robert,
Thanks for the web site links. I signed up for the Microsoft Beta and found 5 spyware programs that I was able to eliminate.
