If it hadn't been for Bob P waking me up to the fascinating area of 1942P class 4 DDRs, I would have never found this wonderful little gem today.

It is much like two other dies Bob found and showed to me over a year ago, but it is definitely different. CONECA blessed Bob's two dies with numbers, so I am certain this one is yet another they would list if they saw it.

We educate each other here, then we benefit from that helping hand we give each other. I got a first hand hint of that today.

Hi Chuck,

Congratulations! Nice looking Class IV offset hub doubling on a 1942 cent.

I do not have that DDR in my "C" files.

Good Hunting!!!

Very well done Chuck! It is really nice to see another example of the Class 4 on the 1942 cents. I do have another one that is different than all the others that I need to add to the site as well.
Now...there is another side to this whole story. I have avidly been searching reverses of Wheat cents for years, a practice not a lot of folks used to do so much until recently. So..the next question is, are there other class four reverses out there? I know of one on a 1944 cent, and I have a few other dates with more minor doubling. Time to look a little more closely folks. I would love to see one of these on an AU/BU coin.
Once again...cool find Chuck. I am glad my previous finds were responsible for helping you find that beauty!
