1994 1c DDR

Bob -- Chuck,

Came across this 1994 cent this morning. Exhibits Class V with a pivot from a point at approximately 9 o'clock on the rim. Doubling is visible on the "FG" designer's initials, steps of the building, all the letters AMERICA and the letters of CENT. Now listed in my files as 1994 1c CDDR-003.

Have you guys got this one listed for Coppercoins? I checked your 1994 listings but didn't see one like this. If you don't and would like to examine just let me know.

Hi Billy...I haven't seen that one before, but I am not sure if Chuck has or not. If he hasn't seen it, I would be happy to have a look at, photgraph, and add it to the site. It's a pretty nice die!

Billy, very cool find! 1994 is a key year in doubled die reverses, with the doubled collumns and wavy steps, and dont know how anyone would have missed that one.

(Just getting in a hurry and only looking at the collumn area's and not the rest of the coin ... we know and you do to ... take ya time people and look at the whole coin ... cheers and happy hunting.)

Robert: Certainly wish I found a few, however, since I was searching a circulated roll from my local bank -- of course was only the one in the roll. But -- one is better than none since my total investment in the coin is one cent. After all, how can one complain? I can't.

Bob, Chuck: Different subject. Dave Harper at Numismatic News contacted me today and wants the story on that 1994 1c rotated reverse tomorrow. I will be putting in a plug for Coppercoins.com in the article. I would guess since cut-off is this Wed. morning for articles -- then most likely in about a week or so the article will be out. I plan to include some additional new Lincoln cent RPM finds sent in by NN readers with the article. Maybe this will help divert at least some of the attention that's been dominating in the media press in regards to those leaf quarters, fat leafs, speared Bison's, spitting horses, wounded eagle, @#$!# astronant and all the man-in-the-moon coins that have been on eBay lately. Sorry if I offend anybody -- but in my opinion those coins are nothing more than die gouges, cracks, etc. that are common on all denomations and though I will agree some are rather interesting looking, they certainly don't command hundreds of dollars in premiums. At least not from me anyway.

Sounds great Billy. We appreciate your efforts to both promote coppercoins.com and to try to divert attention from all those other 'things' out there. Of course, the Cherrypickers guide and others do nothing to properly educate collectors by assigning numbers to these coins. I just found a speared memorial yesterday, and a fat dot on the motto. Maybe I can get a few hundred bucks for them??
