Didn't match any of the three on CONECA's site, nor the two in Billy's lastest, book. None listed on this site either.

Notice the extreme extra thinkness in the center of "N" in IN?

More pictures.

I just bought this one from E-Bay, that was advertized as a FS-024.7 DDR, but turned out to be only machine doubling, then looked at the obverse and found this.

I don't see anything doubled in your photos. Perhaps a little machine doubling in the motto, but nothing else.

What's the deal with the center of the "N" in "IN" & bottom left side of "S" in "TRUST"?

Surley this isn't minor machine doubling, is it?

I don't see anything other than a completely normal 1968 cent. A doubled die would have doubling on it that would be visible on more than two letters, and I don't see doubling on those two.

I agree with Chuck on this one Pennyhound. I don't see anything on any of your pics that would lead me to believe it's a doubled die. As far as why the N is thick...I don't have an explanation for that. To me, it looks like it may have taken a hit sometime. It doesn't even fit the characteristics of a class 6 (distended hub) doubling. as far as the S in TRUST, your arrows point to a few different parts that I think I know what you are looking at. One thing to keep in mind though is that the lower curve of the S, you point to supposed doubling to the North, while on the upper curve, you have an arrow that points to something to the south. If this were class 2 doubling, the spread would have to be the dierction on the entire letter, not north on one part and south on the other. I also see no definative splits or notches, or separation lines. Sorry there Pennyhound, but I don't think we can make this one into a doubled die...even if we wanted to. I think it's just a case of machine doubling and die wear.

You guys got alot more experence with these (1968D's) than I, so ... I must take what you'll say as ... what it is. Thanks for taking the time to go over it tho ... we all still learning, and what better way is there ... shaken it off here and continuing to look Smile
