John Wexler has added to his listings, and started to sell 2003, and 2004 doubled dies with what he discribes having an extra bar that runs parallel to the Memorial column to the left of the chair is a partial impression of that left Memorial column.
Here is a link to one the auctions- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=524&item=3971818452
I dont know to weather call these doubled dies or what. After I saw the auction, I looked at some spare change I had and found 2 of these doubled die witht he bar. One in a 2004 cent and another in a 2005 cent.
Any thoughts?

Hi Gabe,
I have talked with John about these types of coins your mentioning. For what I have examined, and I have come across a ton of these in various positions, some on the left side of Lincoln, some on the right side of Lincoln, some on both -- you name it.
However, all I have come across to date -- that is the only area of seeing anything. They could be a doubled die and I'm not saying they are not. However, with what I have seen -- it's not enough for me to list in my "C" files.
Another aspect of this it that even if they are doubled dies, at least for my "C" files, if that is all that is showing, they would be just too minor to list -- as well as way too many of them to catalog.
I have seen these on every date and mint mark since 1983. An average ciculated roll I will come across 5 or 6 on various dates.
Anyway -- that's my take and John certainly can list and catalog for his "W" files. For me -- I'm not convinced.
Regards,
Billy

Hi Gabe,
I too have searched for and found a very few of these Wexler DDRs. Until Chuck pointed one out to me last week, I really didn't know what he was talking about. On only one (a 1999 specimen), did I see something strong enough that I might consider listing it, but, like Billy, I don't think they would be listable under the coppercoins system either.
I wouldn't throw them away though. The fact that John lists them, and many people follow and use his die system, there may be a market for them.

Gabe/All,
I wanted to clear up that I hope my reply to Gabe did not come across as to not collect these. I was only answering Gabe's question giving my thoughts on them. I always have and always will advocate that a person should collect what they want to collect. That's what makes our hobby great.
Below is one that I had come across that exhibits the bar left and right side of Lincoln sitting. Though I am still not convinced these are indeed doubled dies -- nonetheless it is certainly interesting looking and I have set a few aside for later study.
Happy Hunting!!!
Regards,
Billy
