Interesting... 3 different dates of a long-recognized die variety have now found to be fake by Pure Crap Grading Service and independently by Van Allen of VAM. The reverses (3 different dates if you recall) we found to be indentical.

Pure Crap Grading Service has stopped accepting these so-called coins for grading and said any of these slugs in a Pure Crap Grading Service holder can be returned for market price under their guarantee.

Hmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmm

NGC stopped accepting these varieties/dates FIVE YEARS AGO after deciding the authenticity of the slugs was questionable.

I always knew I liked NGC better than Pure Crap Grading Service.

You like NGC more...I like NGC more...now it's talking the rest of the market into believing they are better so the bandwagon followers and pseudo-premium will come down on PCGS coins. The biggest problem in the market is purely a profit issue. People get more for PCGS slabs, so that's where they go even though the customer service leaves a lot to be desired and their variety identification is really lacking.

You're such a nice guy Chuck.

I would have phrased it a bit differently.

Smile

well NGC did grade some of these. At least 8 active NGC slabs, by their count are out here. Also ICG is stressing out because they graded some too. How much you wanna bet very few people turn the things in for a refund?

Yes, NGC did grade some. So did Pure Crap Grading Service. So did ANACS, ICG Van Allen, et al.

My point is, NGC stopped grading them 5 years ago because they thought something was funny in the state of Morgan. Nobody else paid a bit of attention to it at the time. Even now, all anybody is saying is that PCGS discovered fakes!

I'm SICK of PCGS, their lousy customer service, their shoddy grading standards, and the fact that most people think they are God's gift to coins. I rank them lower than ICG.

Beats the pants off of NGC variety attribution for 20th century issues.

I highly doubt that. Pretend I'm from Missouri -- show me.
