Joe: Looks like a real nice coin. As for the distance of the clashes? Alignment could be the answer. When looking at it under a scope the alignment may have moved when it closed with no planchet and possibly moved the die. Just a suggestion. What type of marks are on the obverse? Be interesting to see that side also?

I really love die clashes they are just so freekin hard to get a good picture of.....I especally like the ones that have shifted...I had a morgan silver dollar like that a while back
