Greetings Coinlover and welcome! I have this coin in 65 Red by Anacs purchased quite awhile ago. If I remember correctly, I paid about $50 for it and at the time there were quite a few available in 65. I think someone ran into a fairly sizable group and slabbed many. This is such a nice variety though, the market seems to have absorbed them well. Not to mention that they are now needed for some of the registry sets. I would value an Anacs 66-Red in the $200-$300 range. If it were in a Pcgs 66 holder, the registry guys would be all over it, maybe 2-3 times that amount. Just my opinion. Oh, by the way, I've looked at 10's of thousands of B.U. 60-D's and only found 1 raw example of this coin.

I found a circulated one in a roll of 1960-D small dates. Still in collectable shape, just circulated some.

I would say Scott's estimate was a bit low.

Joe,

Just a bit, with the right group of bidders at the table you can toss out all the price guides and sales histories. I know the gentleman that won the auction and ironically I don't think he has his set listed...the set would likely be among the PCGS Lincoln Cents top 3 finest ever assembled.

You had a fantastic coin, a slab people respect and the registry awards close in less then 2 weeks. I love these high grade slabbed varieties as you know but I enjoy the ones in my dansco the most.
By the way you had an excellent selection of coins offered this past week. Joe
