Would this be a DO? I know it's not the wide spread 3 to the south but looks to be the same to a lesser degree of spread.
Thanks, Steven

It very well could be Steven. I have a 63D coin with something extra in the 3 of the date as well. We have been waiting for other examples to see if we could call this a DDO. Maybe between mine and yours, we will be able to make a determination on whether these are in fact DDOs and whether they are worth listing.

There are those plus there is another definite doubled die that shows the doubled 3 to a lesser degree than the big one.

If there is ever anything that I post that you could use for making this type of determination or maybe just use for a photo listing, I would be glad to send it to you. There is no way I would know what they are without a site like this to help.
Thanks Steven

I'll see your 3/3 DO and raise it to a 3/3/3 TO.
I found a couple of these in a 63 Proof roll I bought off ebay. I have one and the other one Chuck has. Again I found a second one after looking a 2nd, third, ...several times. You jusk don;t know what you'll miss, so I keep checking rolls.

Coop,
I hadn't seen that 63 Proof DDO before. That's a very nice one indeed. Now I need to go back and check the 63 proofs I have to make sure one of those bad boys didn't slip by

I searched the roll of proofs I bought and it was almost a year later I re-looked at them and found a second one. One ling I learned with this coin was to watch the doubled letter there is usally a doubled L on LIBERTY at the oposite axis. I have seen doubled dies that showed a total southern move and you can see the same doubling on both right/left sides of moved south both date/numbers.
I've got a couple of 1961 TDO/DDO that I can't wait to see on the site. One looks a little ruff in appearance, the other one is a gem TDO. Someday, someone, will twist my arm to show images of the 1961, but no one has asked yet. I just found it the other day when I was cataloging all my double dies. Well someday some one will ask to see it........

Steven: Watch for coins with a Low L on LIBERTY or a High L and check to see if the last digit of the date is affected. They could be opposite in seperation or the same. Depending on how the hubs made the die.
