Here is one that I have looked at for quite awhile without reaching a conclusion as to which RPM it is. I was thinking it could be 21 or 17. Any ideas would be welcome.

The RPM looks most pronounced when viewed upside down.

21 looks closer in shape, but yours is farther North than # 21. Well comparing it to the RPM book it looks that way. You have to do an overlay on that die and your RPM to be sure. Sometimes the image is rotated on the RPM book and can look deceiving. If you can wait a couple of days, I will have time then to compare it.

Thanks Coop. I was leaning toward #21 also but was not sure. I have 3 of these in great condition if you need one for a trade. If you can do an overlay that would be great.

I was right, yours is further North than 021. I'll have to check other coins through search to see if there is a attribution from coppercoins. So if I don't find one, then it could be submitted later for consideration. Looks like a nice RPM. I'll let you know what I find out.

Just checked and there is no match. So yours will be a new listing when things get rolling again. I'll be glad to take one and I bet Bob P would like one when you send it. Great to see new finds are still out there.

I agree that it is definitely not #21, and probably a new variety. You will need to hold onto that one so we can add it to the site when we start doing attributions again. Nice find rollmeupabe. Coop is right that it would be nice to have a copy of that one for my files, but only if you have spares or want to trade for something. I will let you know when it's time to send it in for attribution, but definitely hold onto it...OK??

RMUA: I thought yours look familiar and found one of my minor RPMs that is so close to it till I did an overlay. The mintmark shapes are close, but the lower bar is weaker on my coin. The 46 in the date is weaker also.

Thanks Bob. I feel like a kid in a candy store when I come across a new variety. I think I have 3 of these. I will verify they are the same and I will send one along to you and one to Coop. I will just send it along once I confirm they are the same and then you can list it whenever the time works out for you. I will also look for common markers on the 3 coins and send you pictures of what I think might be good markers. That was one of the things that stumped me. I could not find markers that matched #21 or #17.

Just in case it is not listed on the site send me your mailing address on a private message.

After re-checking my markers on my minor 1946-S Cents I found I have 4 of 01 and found out I have a 02, but only one of these. Rolling Eyes The are from different dies as shown in the overlays.

Coop. I just sent you an email with some pictures of the coin I have. I looked at all 3 and found common markers on the 3 that I took pictures of and included in the e-mail.

If they come from the same roll of Cents, the markers should match exactly. That is how I determined that my two were not from the same die. Although looking similiar the loacation was different than 021 and yours. So they are from 4 different dies. Someday We will have a number for all of them.
