Murph: I'm not Bob, but it looks interesting. Anything going on around LIBERTY? Is there any machine doubling marks on OBV or REV? Doesn't seem shelf like and the overall digit looks larger. Interesting from what I see? Still working on that same box? I tried to find some 06 boxes here. No dice yet. Sad

Hi Coop. I got a few rolls today from a bank in town. There's a Kentucky vs UAB NCAA game on tonight. I sat down just like I did when I first started finding the first bunch. Tonight I am finding the "SW notching of RTY" variety and have found one of those "Doubled DATE" possible varieties. The doubling is on top of the date not down the side of it and doesn't look slick like machine doubling. I'd like to find some more before I get my hopes up and I haven't checked it out inn depth. I only gave it a fiurst glance and the date is the only place where I found anything interesting. I hope Kentucky wins. Smile

Wow. That really looks interesting.

The apparent doubling seems pretty strong, and would imagine that other areas of the coin would show similar doubling.

Man, I need to get my hands in a couple of 2006 rolls...

Strike Doubling I think - After the game I gave it a better look and there is plenty of doubling all over this coin. The portrait shows some flat strike type doubling, the motto is clerly strike doubled. The only thing that really looks good is the date and designers initials. VDB is doubled. You don;t see many coins like that even if it is machine doubling.

I am inclined to believe this is mechanical/strike doubling Murph. Anything that strong should show on all the digits of the date. Of course, before any conclusive statement, I would have to see the coin in hand.

I guess another heads up would be finding only one or maybe two with different doubling. A flag would go up on that also in a roll or box. Could just be mechanincal doubling or even coin damage if only one shows up that way. But I have run into rolls that have only one doubled die or RPM or OM in them also. So the coin in had would be the answer. But if you see evidence on other places then your assestment could be correct. Save it as an educational piece. You never know when you might need it. I have rolls of educational pieces and have used a lot of the for Photos.
