Found this 1992 that appears to have any extra column that is very tilted. What do you think?

Both pictures are of the same reverse, just different light angles.

Looks like a bar, but at an angle? Interesting.....
The die looks extremely worn or...... not hubbed strong in that area. Anything else going on with the reverse?

Looks like any other bar, except it's at an extreme angle away from the column and has a smaller portion of it extending between Lincoln's lower legs almost to his right knee. (Do you think he could be relieving himself?)
Looks like possibly a die scratch/gouge but I vote BAR. Very Happy

I would say it is a gouge or die crack...especially since it expands from a light crack to a thicker one. The angle it shows at also precludes the possibility that it is a portion of or doubling of the column.

This is not an extra column even though it does have some appearances of being so. The one major factor that helped me determine this was hard to see and not detectable on the pictures. The bar or raise section on the coin had a grove to the right of it which would indicate a build up of metal that had been pushed from the hole that the bar had created. These would not happen if it occurred in hubbing since the metal would have been pushed by the hub, away from the center, leaving a flat surface where the grove appears. There are othe indicators; the line is not straight , but has a slight curve as it passes under Lincoln's legs and it bulges in the wrong deriction (towards the column).

On to one more thing. I watched a doubled die obverse 2005 go off on Ebay last night for $50.00+. The pictures were horrible, the seller questionable, however, I do believe that it was a doubled die. Smed, Bob and any of you out there in the TAMPA area (Holiday, Fl. was the sellers location), be on the look out for this possible doubled die.

You all have a good one

Any images worth keeping on this one. If you still have the auction, maybe you could add them?? Or send me the tag if you have it.

My belief is that the coin posted has a die gouge and nothing else. I believe a large number of these "columns" at obtuse angles are nothing more than die gouges.

I saw that auction. But by judging by the first image I figured it was a machine doubled one. I didn't check out the other images.

Hopefully, one of us in Florida will be able to snag one of these. Until that time, I will withhold my judgement. Notice that he said that "I have a roll with the top one showing the same thing" and was open to offers.
