Was playing around with me pictures last night and noticed some subtile differences.

Was wandering if this is an earlier die state or same, but different lighting?

More scratches in front and at bottom of ear.

Noticed blomb (metal flow) at top of next to last, column.

1st pictures from this site, 2nd from my coin.

Really difficult to tell die state based on your pics pennyhound. It is easier to tell by seeing the devices near the edge of the coin which are more apt to show the flow lines. As far as the blob you are referring to, it looks like a die clash mark to me. I have not seen this variety in hand, but if I were to take a guess, it would seem like an earlier die state. I beleive I can see some evidence of the clash mark on the coppercoins pic also.

Looks more like a difference in lighting to me. I don't think the die state is different enough between them to make much difference. Striking pressure and the exact order of strike can make subtle differences that are noticeable, but not enough to list them separately.
