Not sure if this is anything or not ...

There appears to be an 'O' or 'D' of 'GOD' on the bridge, of Linclon's nose.

It's on the bridge of the nose so it's only a portion of the digit. (if that's what it is at all)

The zero in date is to large, not sure so ... thus this post.

Does not appear to go with the flow lines of the die either.

To circular to be a gouge ... ?

Took some pictures of the 'O' & 'D' of 'GOD' and overlaid them:

Then overlaid each, to the mark on Lincoln's nose.

Being, on the bridge of the nose, were the angles change on the die ...

What do you guys think?

Interesting die crack over the eyebrow, but doesn't connect to the mark. I think it is a die scratch as you can see the planchet scratches and a die scratch would be stronger than these. All it would take is a brush to swirl into the lower part of the die to make this. Probably just one bristle could do that.

I agree that it is nothing more than a die scratch or gouge. Once again, we have to be careful to not believe there is something more on a coin than what is actually there. I know it is easy to see things after a while of searching, but it really has to be compelling to be anything else.

It is a die scratch, and these are rather common on cents of all dates.

I found a long time ago, the only dumm question, was the one that wasn't asked.

That being said ...

Felt I would also put it up, so others could benifit from the input.

Thanks guys ... back to looking. Wink
