This 1943P wheat shows some very strong doubling on the reverse and doesn't display the same markers as the 1DR-001 or 002. As best I can tell. It does have some crud. The obverse of this coin looks to have been cleaned at some point.
Should I leave this alone or finish the cleaning.
Thanks,
Steven

You definitely have a major class 6 doubled die there Steven. I am surprised you were even able to find markers on it. As usual, you should not clean it. However, if it is just to be in your collection, and you don't care if it is cleaned or not, then go ahead and take some naval jelly to it to remove most of the rust. Make sure you don't leave it on too long though.

Thanks,
Seems the more I learn here the more I find and the more questions I have. The variety search section has been a tremendous help due to all the great photos. They cut down on a lot of my questions when I can go there and identifiy what I am looking at along with the written descriptions. With all the lincoln cents I have collected I still haven't gotten a complete set. Guess I'll have to break down and pay the high price of some of the keys to get this done and stop hopeing to find them in a bag, can or the back yard.
I've been "PINCHING PENNIES" all day long and found a few keepers but my eyes are tired. I'll save some for another day.
Steven
