I had been putting some minor 2006P DDO cents that I had found into tubes so i could go back later and figure them out. I also had a minor DDO that someone had sent to me. Well today I connected 4 out of 5 of them. I emptied the 4 tubes into 4 piles of cents, each one had the same minor notching in TY, very thick hair and Date, especially the "2" in the date. I lightly scanned over the obverse and couldn't find any die marks that were common to any of my 4 or 5 groups. Then I went to the reverse and looked at a lot of die gouges and cracks but no matches. ...that is until I looked at the left post on the memorial. It was so obvious that, well you know the saying, "if it had been a snake...". With the exception of the one single that someone sent to me, the others all had either the crack over the post or both the crack and the large die chip or whatever that is on the post itself. I then went looking at newly listed cents here and the only variety that might be a match would have to be 1DO-008. The crack over Lincoln's eye might be a match if it's very wide, thick. If you have an 008 would you look for a crack coming off the top of the left post and let me know if you see one? It would look just like the one pictured below:

Murph,
The crack that runs up the 3rd column from the left planter is actually very common on cents from 2000 to present. I did have a look at my DO-008, and it does have a crack there. Are there any other markers I may be able to look for to help you out??

Hello Murph - Yes, 2006P-1DO-008 does have that die crack on the left post.
