Picked it in circulation in '56-'57. Kept it since it was different, struck through. Any opinions?

Looks like a very late die state that may have been struck through grease. Pretty interesting toning on it. How was it stored??

Hi Bob, thanks for the reply. It was stored as it is, only changed the holder once. It has lost a little luster, but age, like in wine, hasn't hurt it.

I agree...the toning is a nice color, but you can still see that it's a nice coin. Amazing how many die cracks and chips on the reverse wheats. This die couldn't have gotten much further before it finally gave out.

Looks much more like a very weak strike with a VLDS die pair. Two things in one that make it very weak.
