Hi, all.

I just found your site. For those interested – warning you may get bored Crying or Very sad – I thought I would give you my background.

I have re-kindled my interest in Lincoln’s. When I was a kid, my aunts gave me a tri-fold penny folder with some already in there. It thrill of the hunt was great. I put it away when it was full.

Last year, my daughter did a short stint as a waitress. I found myself rooting through her change, and I’ve got the bug again. I also discovered die varieties.

A few weeks ago, there was a collection in church which asked for people’s spare change. When the plate rolled past me, and I saw all those pennies, something hit me. Shocked I approached the church and told them of my interest and that I would buy their pennies from them. The called me to pick up $46 and change. WOW! Razz I’ve gone through about $10 of them. I filled a few holes in my new album. I upgraded a few already in there to higher grades or better color. I also identified potential die varieties. Since I live in GA, Denver mint marks are in short supply. Approximately 30% of the lot so far are Denver; 2 Wheat’s; and approximately 50/50 for pre and post 2000.

Like it is said – I’m baaaaacccckkkk! I travel so my postings will be sporadic. I’ll keep you updated on my finds. Needless to say, I’m thinking about approaching other local churches to make them the same offer.

Welcome back to sanity! Good to see that we're not the only ones having fun searching pennies. Keep looking / keep finding.

Thank you.

I'm working on saving my pennies - pun intended Laughing - to get stuff that I can take pictures under my microscope. I've put identifying die varieties on the back burner while I sort through the pile I acquired. While I've only been involved in die varieties for less than a year, there are Denver mint marks that just jump out at me - wrong place, off axis, etc, that I put in a special place for a microscope view. That will be my first order of business when I finish the sorting.

I do feel welcome here and hope I can contribute as much as I receive.
