Why is the 1963d that has the ddo that shows the extra 3 (I have the lds type) pointed when the none ddo 3 is flat?

If you look close at the center point of the normal 63-3 it's blunt but on the highest relief of it there's more of a point.
That shows very well in the CPG picture.

On the doubled one because it's weak and a tilted hub class 8 double die it only shows a partial design and only the highest relief part of the second 3 is there so it looks pointed.

Okay I see what you are saying, the top part of the three is what we see right, since it is titled?

That's what I think.

Some books say it's a high 3 over a polished off low 3 but I think they mean it's a class 8/tilted hub but at some point they polished most of the low 3 away and that's why the early state shows the lower tail and the later state doesn't.
