i adore this series. i collect all the US coins, but this is by far my favorite..

the 09svdb is gorgeous.. probably a 64/65 red, but it was cleaned.. very lightly, but it was cleaned.. and relatively cheap Wink

14D is VG.. need a new one

the '22 is F with a small scratch (need loupe)

everything 09-33 is at least XF, just a few VF/XF sprinkled in. 13D is the worst - VF

my camera isn't good with close-ups, but those three single coins are double dies. the 55 is xf/au - old cleaning/recolored. i paid too much for it, and plan to upgrade soon. the 72 is ngc 64rd, and the 83 ddr is about a 64. bought raw. the '95 is also a ddo. the wide am's need work.. the 98 is au, 00 is bu, the 99 is dirty, has problems, and is questionable.. looking to upgrade.

the last page is just an extra i put in. coins are '42 pf (64/5rd), & '60-'74 proofs.

coins still to add..
09svdb upgrade
09 upgrade
09 s/s anacs 64 rd - will be in next week
14d upgrade (vg->xf+)
22 upgrade (f->vf/xf raw)
31s upgrade (xf->red)
35 upgrade (63rb->65) finishes page 3
55 ddo upgrade (xf->au+ w/some red)
60d sm/lg date
84 ddo
99 wide am

70s ddo
41 ddo red
92d close am
95d ddo
and probably 100 more varieties

then it's down to individual pre-34 upgrades. and pre-60 proofs. should be fun.

the memorials need a good overhaul.. i actually just need to sit down and do it, i've got a few sets to choose from.

the '06 proof is on the way Wink

1 slab accompanies the set - '81s t2 pf68 ucam ngc
notable 2x2's -
17ddo's x 3 (all F)
46s/d red
46s/d vf/xf
36ddo's - all 3 in vf/xf
53 d/d xf
60d d/d x 3
63d ddo x 3
72 ddo die#8
a big slew of oddities.. wheats&mems

i think that's it?

it still has a long way to go until i'd consider it done, but that's where i'm at as of 5/27/06 - 30 years old.

hello forum

Wow! That is a great looking set.

Im trying to assemble mine together, but it takes a lot of time and a lot of money.

Very nice looking set that obviously took years of TLC to put together. I have been working on a set for years that can ONLY include nice AU brown coins from 1909 through 1933, and MS65RD or above from there.

to be honest, it's been put together in about a year. i was fortunate enough to get a job at a coin shop with a 30 year accumulation of lincolns to explore...at least 100,000 coins.

this album would be the last one i'd sell if it came down to it..... it's the perfect series, it's a giant, i love it..

a million might finish it... it's never ending.

I plan to put a complete uncirculated set, except for the 1909S VDB and the 1914-D. It will be an expensive proposition, but it will be well worth it.

Now that you have the coins, check out the information on varieties and you may have a few already in your collection. Always great to have a very nice coin and find out later it is a doubled die or RPM. Really adds more value to your coin and then you have another hole to fill if you remove a variety. Welcome aboard gription. The ride is just starting.......

Sorry I can't make out the type of coins you used fo fill out the holes after 1958 and 2006. I ask because that looks a lot better than an empty hole . You have a very nice collectoin.

I think those are the little P - D things they put in mint sets. I think they are made using cent planchets so they fit cent sets. I have found them in cent rolls and even seen them on metal detecting web sites and people have no idea what they are.

HI ED
Yes I think you are right, that does look like them they just look so much nicer than a hole. Not sure were you can get them other than to cut them out of a mint set.

yep those are just those little mint set medals.. i had to put something in those empty holes, it didn't feel right otherwise.

the last coin after '06 in my regular '99 since the wide AM is kinda iffy..

updates since the inital post:

'09 upgrade (not a pure red, ugh.. so i still need an upgrade)
& the 09 s/s fell through Sad

picked up that 60d lg over sm date (red) Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

&
'54 rb pf (kinda nasty)
'57 rd pf
'59 rd pf
'60 rd sd pf
and the '06 pf is in

i think an '84 double ear, and a nice '99 wide AM will do it for awhile... who knows....

I have seen the mint medals in many dealer's 'junk box'. They are not worth much, and since millions were made, there are more than enough for everyone.
