Mark,
On the 1944 one good indicator is the Blakesley effect that you can see directly across from the clip. The site listed below has a pretty good explaination and photos.

The 193X I can only guess maybe grease filled die. What does the reverse look like just opposite the date?
Both of these would be in the error catigory. I believe there will be others along to help with this also.

Mark,
Steven hit it on the head on both of the first photos. A genuine clip and a filled die....both mint errors.
The last pic you posted is a common occurrence of the mid 80's to mid 90s. It is a plating problem. The copper plating did not adhere to the zinc core for some reason or another. Sometimes, when the coin was struck, the plating actually cracked near the devices. As stated, this was very common problem, and there is no premium associated with these.

jodeath: Finding any Cents in the 80's without the orange rind look is hard to do. Even some of the very collectable Cents with the 83DDR/84DDO with the orange rind effect lowers their value. So when buying coins with this poor effect or carbon spotted would reduce the value. Those without the defect would be the ones to buy as they usually stay that way. (usually, anything can happen to coins after they age even their enviroment affect them)
