If that raised from the field? I just check my overlay and no letters touch there in that area, but part of the head does, but that would be just an outline from the obverse field, but that would be farther east of the area in question.
If what you're seeing is raised it would have to be a huge die gouge. But if it is lower than the field, it might be a strike through something. Here is an example of a strike through wire.
Hope this helps.

Could it be a dropped "Y" from Liberty on the obverse? This assumes the "Y" is not raised but was engraved into the metal. I have a 1947 that is similar where the 19 is pressed into Lincoln's head. I thought it was neat but I am not sure it would be worth anything.

Dropped letter errors are normally incused...not raised. As far as a market for them, I have seen some of them go for significant amounts. I sold a dropped B on the eyebrow to a person from New Mexico for $35. I auctioned another dropped letter cent in 2004 amd it sold for $17.00. May not seem like a lot, but I'll take a 1700% markup any time!!

Errorfinder definitely has a 'struck through dropped letter' coin, and it's the Y of LIBERTY from the obverse. These errors happen when material clogs the die then falls out creating a positive mold of the letter. It is then subsequently struck through causing a cavity on the coin. They are rather uncommon and do sell for a premium. I don't know any place to gain that premium other than eBay.
