ok I will open the Morgan Dollar discussion. Here is a mystery. What happened to Vamlink.com? Does anyone know? The site has not been updated since Dec. 2001. The site is a good reference point for Morgans and is run by Morgan maven Jeff Oxman. No photos however. I purchased an 1878 VAM 9 from him early in 2002 and have not seen anything since. The site has had a huge on line store of VAMs for sale, but again, most are listed as sold because of the long pause in activity. If anyone wants to discuss what an 1878 VAM 9 is, please let me know!

I was at the Niles IL coin shop, a very nice bid board there that closes every two weeks. John Sladek there always has a box of about a dozen Morgans to look at and bid on. He had a few GSA CC dollars as usual and one was an 1880-CC. I looked at it and it is the VAM 5, 8 over high 7. I have the VAM 4 and VAM 6 so hopefully I will get this one. I will let you know.

I am happy to report that I did win the 1880-CC Morgan dollar on my local bid board. It is a VAM 5, "8 over High 7" variety and is in a GSA holder and was unattributed on the board. I purchased it for $360. That seems to be the going rate for a high MS62 or low MS63 common 1880-CC. I now own the VAM 4, 5 and 6. Thee are the 1880/79-CC, 1880-CC 8 over High 7 and the 1880-CC 8 over Low 7. The 1880/79-CC is graded MS62 by PCGS. The other two are in GSA holders. The VAM 6 was purchased as a MS62. My goal is to have NGC grade them in their GSA holders. They would look very nice photographed together!

Wow...that sounds really cool!
As for the VAM site problem, that could be solved by anyone willing to take on a subdomain of mine, "morgans.uscoinvarieties.com" - anyone?
I can also make:
3c.uscoinvarieties.com
nickels.uscoinvarieties.com
dimes.uscoinvarieties.com
and on and on and on....limitless.

Whats Involved? I have a website but I am sure this would be different. Mine was a turn key operation. I might be interested in helping with a subdomain. I would probably be thinking along the lines of "wlhalves.uscoinvarieties.com" (I love Walking Liberties). I don't know much about varieties now but what better way to learn. I just need to know if I would be able to do it. What would my responsibilties be? Time involved ect...

I would also be interested. I could lend my silver dollars for photographic purposes. Most of them would be interesting to someone. I could also supply some research.
