I was going through my do some day box and was able to identify this 1945D as 1MM 07. While looking at the coin I see that this coin has a split upper conner in the primary mint mark.
My question is, dose anyone else see what I see and does this make any difference.

If I can take a guess are you talking about what looks like double outer curves inside the primary MM. If it is this may just be an anomally respective to this particular coin and not accually another repunching. I don't see any evidence of it in the upper curve. My guess only though.
Nice coin from what I can see in this photo by the way

Here is another pic of the coin.
Check the pic and see if this looks like a secondary punch west.

Jack,
The splits in the serifs may indeed be important It could mean that this die has in fact a triple repunched mintmark. The first repunch is north, and the second could be tilted or rotated. Are there any markers you can find on the coin? We have both EDS and LDS pictures of RPM #7 on the site.

I guess I was trying to look at the less obvious. I do see the the split serifs showing what definately appears to be a triple MM and did not comment on that but was looking at what I though you may have been asking as to whether there was a quad going on there from the looks of the outer curve inside the primary MM. My bad.

Yes the coin has all the Die Scratchs that are on the coin on the site. It appears to be UNC or AU which may be higher grade than the site coin.

I should have said Split upper Serif in the first picture and it would have been a clearer question.
Bob good to see you coming in here on this one. This coin has been here in the some day box for a long time. Just now getting around to some of the coins.

Jack,
If possible, do you mind taking a posting a picture of the full obverse? I may want to see that one for some comparision examination.

Very nice picture Jack! Very nice indeed.
I do think I would like to see that coin and examine if for the triple of quad RPM. The mintmark positioning and everything else matches MM-007, but the copy I have here is not in good enough condition to show any splits in the serifs.
