Looks like a crack/die break in the forming. They got a lot of mileage out of the reverse. Almost no lines/grains left on it. Got to love it when you find a nicer die than that. I found a coin the other day I need to put an image up on. It is BVLDS. (Beyond Very Late Die State.) Kind of looks like a glorified slug.

Coop, you are right. It is pretty bad. There are quite a few things done improperly, but it is a few that I had handy. before I had a way to take photos. It is crude, (the camera setup), but it works. I am in the process of making a "jig" to mount the camera on the moveable part of my 'scope, and then take photos that way.
Dick
PS That idea turned out to be a bust. No room to do anything, so, back to the drawing board!....

Thought I'd jump in here and put up an old die crack I thought was a bit interesting. Looks Like Abe is wearing a ducktail hair due.

I think I can top that. Here is one with eight die cracks. Though they may be small the die was getting weaker with each strike when it made this one.

Bob, I finally got it, and deliberatly! The first one "got there", but I sure didn't know how! Some people can be "told how", and they get it right away. Others like yours truly, have to "see it done", for it to register. The fact that I have a photographic memory, does little for anything that "does in one ear, and out the other"! Every day I read the different comments, and bits of info, is like a miniature "power-ball" winning ticket, because I have gotten so much out of it!. Thanks to all!

Maybe we should see who has the most cracks. I have a couple that might give Coop a run for his money!
Of course, I'll have to figure a way for all of them to be seen, at the same time!

Dick: That don't count as some of them are die breaks. Maybe if you backed out a bit, we might find even more. Your images are getting better. Do you photoshop? If so check out the photography section under Photoshop 101. There are a few suggestions on editings, overlays and other things that you might enjoy.

Coop, I can't for the moment get a full coin into a photo! I don't what is the reason, but I am working on it. Actually, that is not a true statement, because I have some uploaded. I meant to say that I can't get the photo of the whole coin, (as you folks do), and still show the point(s) of interest on the coin."Gimmy time", I'll get the hang of it! I am using the program that came with my cam-corder. I didn't know until yesterday, that I could make snapshots with it! It can be programmed for 800X, digitally, and 40X optically. It also has macular setting, so I can get pretty close. How it gets the size to be 720X240, I don't know. That is what comes from the "gallery". Once I get onto this thing, you will notice the difference. I see the photo, and it is symetrical, but it comes out IMG, at that size. Normally, I use Photo Suite III-SE, and have had good luck with pictures. I haven't tried the overlays, etc, yet. It will be a while before I get to that stage, and then you may get a "fist-full" of questions! I also want to make transparencies, to check for differences, die clashes, etc. I'm sure you may be called upon, again, for help. I may become a literary leech! With your help,
Dick

Coop, I ahve a ton of software on that category, but have never had an interest in it, until now. I wish I had gotten into it sooner.
