Although its rather minor, it is scarce and it is now listed by the Red Book which means it will be on the generalist's list, not just a Lincoln specialist's coin any more.
This one is a bit of a low grade, I would suspect there are still a lot of rolls and bags out there that could contain these in 66 or higher...but the price looks about right for the grade it's in.
This one is far rarer than the 2000 coin, so if you're looking for one this may be the opportunity. as for me, I think I'm going to stay in the background on this variety - it just doesn't impress me enough for the money.

That seems like a decent price for it considering what I have seen it sell for before ($50-$100). That was mainly before anyone knew about how many would end up surfacing - and still nobody really knows.
It is known that the 1998 seems to be much less common than the 2000, but still the 1999 is the big one to be on the watch for. Very few known, and seem to be attracting quite a bit of attention.

Yup, "this guy" is Ken Potter himself. I think that price is a bit steep, but those things don't come available often at all.

An arrogant, self-proclaimed expert in the E/V field, as evidenced by the moronic "KOINPRO" in the URL of his website.

I may not be kind at times, but I try not to be ambiguous. Unless it's on purpose. LOL

Ken Potter is arguably the leading expert in world die varieties and has a lengthy record as a dealer and general die variety specialist. He has been working on a die variety system for world coins for a number of years - but in my opinion faces a problem in that it is not widely published. He is a decent guy but is a bit sold on himself. Best to be humble in my opinion.

I think they are 64's. I feel the price was to high for the 65's as well but you don't see these to often.I wanted 1 example and I am glad I was able to trade for it. I understand there may be around 75 or so out there.......for now. Joe
