that 1943-D is coppercoins 1D0-006 the other number DIE-9 is the Coneca number for it. They use their own system of numbers. Some of the coppercoins listings cross reff and show the Coneca numbers and others don't. There are ones listed here but not by Coneca and ones at Coneca not listed here. The cool thing about this site is that it has photos but Coneca only shows photos (on their site) of the top 100 RPMs but not all the DDOs which they only describe. When you see a number like Die-X it's probably their number, if you see 1DO-00X it's coppercoins number.

The 1943 D is a class 6 Distended Hub doubled die.

Just giving the details because it helps everyone learn Wink

By the way when I search a given date I look here for the listed varieties but I also look at Coneca and read their descriptions of the ones not listed here. It helps me to know where to look. It's still hard to attribute anything without a picture and that's just one of the reasons we like this site! It's got GREAT pictures!!!!!

Check out Conecas site if you never saw it:

Ed,

I have never saw the information you have given. I would never know unless posted.

The Coneca number's and listing's as you said have no pictue's so this is the best site to find picture's of the coin's in question.

I thank you for the info. and hopefully more info to come.

You are very wise and knowledgeable about this stuff.

David

David, I just put the link ED gave you, on MY toolbar, so I can refer to it, when I have a coin that don't fit the photos on the site (here), I can check there, and find out extra info about the coin, and very possibly, cross-reference it to one of the ones that do NOT have the photo, but does have the info. There are many that fit this category. Now I know why so many of the members do a lot of "fence-jumping"! FYI, you might be interested in obtaining a membership there, for the benefits that they offer, particularily if you have other coins. You would also receive the bi-monthly "ERRORSCOPE", in which many of OUR members contribute. BJ is one in particular. In fact, he is the one who put me onto Coppercoins.com! Thank you again BJ!

Thank's Dick and Ed. I followed the link Ed gave me and found Coneca top 100. I know coppercoins.com has great picture's, but your right about cross referencing using picture's. I too have to see a picture of the coin to know for sure if it's the right one.

Thank's again

David
