Aaron: Just take a little figure out to get it to do what I want. Still trying to find a way to delete files off my floppy disks. The disk has hidden files on it and when you can't delete them they take up space. I used to use internet explorer to do this, but so far I don't see/or figured out how to this. It will come, just takes time. I figure if I can get all this down, then I will be ready to help the next computer camel jockies to figure this out. Wink

Hi Coop,

When you say "Floppy Disk" are you refering to the A drive? I know enough about computer's to get me in trouble but sometimes out. I really hate this laptop. It's slow.

Look's like I'm going to buy a computer instead of a microscope. I do plan on getting what I need when It come's to PhotoShop also. You guy's and girl's have fun. I will visit on a laptop when I can.

Yes, The A drive. I bought an add on as my camera uses the 3.5 inch floppies. Still love using them. The camera batteries are rechargeable, the floppies reusable. Win, win situation.

Aaron, I concur. I have XP home ed. on CD's, and the emachine "might" have XP PRO. I am NOT a programmer, but have built my share of them. I never liked ME, and don't "really like" XP, but it does have it's advantages, (few). The only one I can really recommend it the windows photo, and FAX viewer. My favorite of all is 98SE. It is on all units, (two of them being on line), and the emachine is the only one with XP., also on line.
My GURU Advised me against "VISTA", many months ago, for the same reasons You have mentioned. My emachine didn't have a floppy, but when I got thru it had a floppy, and zip , (100MB) drives.
Coop, if you want to upgrade, and not have a big hassle, go to 98se. IMHO, Coop, Yes we do tend to become a bit hard-headed, but if you think back, you will remember that is how we got here, in the first place!
Aaron, I've been pulling 10 coins out of the end of each roll, and the one I'll post was the secopnd.

I'm running Vista on a PC that I built myself late last summer. I had to (painfully) sell my best coins to do it. But the video card has a lot to do with whether Vista will run smoothly or not on your PC. I have the NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT AGP vid card which actually works better using Vista than it did using Win XP Pro. This is because Vista uses DirectX 10 and Win XP uses DirectX 9. I'm not sure what the difference is between them, but I can tell there is a marked difference in performance on my machine playing games. I decided to get a new printer and camera as my others were obsolete/damaged/worn out and I needed to upgrade them too. Doing it all at once has been a very smooth operation for me - no driver vs Vista problems here. In fact, Vista cleared up one problem I had been upset about while using Win XP. While playing a couple of my favorite online games, the action would suddenly freeze for about 20-seconds. It can get frustrating if it happens several times during a heated battle in a first person shooter game. And I'm happy to report that thanks to Vista, I no longer have to put up with those freeze-ups.
But as has been said already, a lot of periferials like printers/scanners/camera software etc. aren't Vista ready! Many companies are trying to update their drivers to Vista now. But until they do, the best way to insure that Vista works for you if you can is to upgrade to "Vista-ready" components.
