We live on a small lake, actually it is a pond and a small lake, however, it has turned into a rather medium size lake now. The post in the foreground (white arrow) is about twenty feet away from the normal shoreline. Obout half of its 5 ' is now covered in water.

AND IT IS STILL RAINING!!!!!!!!!!

BJ, I hope you have the oars, too! Be careful of reptiles, trying to avoid the rising water! Both kinds, with, and without feet. Don't lose your swimming suit! Now that I think of it, you should be right at home, with the "rising water".. Seems you used to gthru that routine often: "Take her down to periscope depth"!

No basement, thankfully. However, the water is still rising in the lakes, even though the sun is shining

FAY IS GONE !!!!!!!!

Just to give you an idea of how much water we had. When we had the three back to back hurricanes hit here, the water mark left on a wall around the lake has less than a foot before it is covered by the water FAY dumped on us. That post that was in the picture on this thread has less than 6 inches before it goes completely under water. AND, we are expecting thunderstorms this afternoon. Yup, more water.

Fay brought lots of rain over here, and some wind, but nothing major. There were about 4 tornado warnings at the same time here in Broward county, and my family and I took shelter a couple of times because of then.

It sure has been an interesting store to track, and Im glad it didnt develope into a hurricane.

I'm glad to hear the storm was relatively minor--and all are safe. We get some wild coastal storms here--but only in the winter. I haven't seen a drop of rain since May, and would happily trade a day like in that photo for some of our sun.

Kurt is in the upper part pf the state, about midway, more accurately, but they get a LOT MORE rein than we do down here, 100 miles from the border. We have had years since any good rain.
Yes I'd give five sunny days for one good rainy day!

Well, I managed to not get anything from Fay, and I am not complaining either. Yesterday, we had a grand total of 1/4 inch of rain, and the winds howled at 15-20 MPH. We still have a chance of some significant rain from the feeder bands still moving in from the gulf, and the folks just east of here got 10-20 inches of rain in places. It is funny how this thing acted. Mother nature is a strange woman indeed.

The post is gone, completely under water and we are still getting more water into the lake. There are about 10 to15 places in our community that are flooded out and it seems that even though we have a pumping system to get the water out of the lake, there is no place to put it.

Had thunderstorms late yesterday afternnon and into the evening which dumped another inch or so of water on us and we are expected to have the same thing today.



The only ones that think this is neat are the ducks that live in the lake.

Just got a message from BJ that he has now lost his Internet. The water still seems to be rising where he is. Please say a prayer for him and others in Florida who are suffering from this latest catastrophe. We hope that things get better and the water starts receding soon.
