A hub is a positive of the coin design. A steel punch with the design devices in relief (raised) utilized for the purpose of making a die. A die is a negative of the coin design. A steel punch with the design devices engraved (incused) utilized for the purpose of making a hub or striking a coin. A hub makes a die and a die makes a hub but a die cannot be used to make a die and a hub cannot be used to make a hub.

So the master hub makes the master die, the master die makes the working hub, the working hub the makes the working die.

Well this is my understanding with the $5.00 gold indian being an exception.

I haven't started that yet. Maybe when I retire. Just got to get to retirement age yet. A strike is looming where I work and I figure I'll be selling some coins soon. It doesn't look good right now. Probably all will be off work till who know when. Money grabin' companies. Make record profits and crap on the help with a lousy offer for a new contract. Will know more soon!

Coop, keep your chin up. I have been there, and done that, and received the same crap from the companies I worked for. They don't consider "hired help", as living beings, so they treat them that way. My daughter goes thru the same thing every three years, and we have been able to help her, when it happens. Not so the next one! I don't drive, so no way to help. She does the errand running for us, and has been doing it since I losrt my drivers license. We got hit with a rent increase, ans everyone is up-tight. I wonder how many tenants they qwill lose, as a resdult? I won't be one of them, hopefully, but if it comes down to that, I'll have to go "south of the border", because my income won't pay the rent anywhere but here, in this country. In that case, you won't be the only one selling coins! The current situation is not over, and done, yet. We haven't hit bottom yet, I don't think. I saw the last one, and it wasn't pretty!

20 hours before deadline and was accepted. Feeling better now that that is over. Hopefully this is it.

That is as cute as I have ever seen! Not to worry, that little chick will hunt cover as soon as he gets cold!
