Hi Folks....My next door neighbor brought these coins over for me to have a look at. I haven't a clue as to what they are. He would like to know origin, time frame in which they were made, and approximate value. They are silver. Can anyone help??

The first 2 pics are of the first coin, the last 2 pics are of the second coin.

wow, that's a toughie. Here's my best guess for now (and it's only a guess): 15th century Bulgaria.

The inscription and the irregular flan indicate pre-1500. The building on the reverse looks like a mosque, but the writing looks Roman or Cyrillic. I don't think it's an Islamic coin but I think it's from somewhere in Eastern Europe that had Islamic influence.

Just a guess. I'll try to do better but no promises.

That is the type of coin photo that can be sent to Coin World. I am sure they can identify it and probably give you all types of information on it. Numismatic News as Well.~lucky2

I have absolutely no idea but the obverse of the first coin reminds me of some kind of Spanish/Mayan looking design. I'm referring to the figure and the beaded necklace and overall design of this portrait. It looks very similar to central and southamerican art but I could be totally wrong. Just a thought, thanks for the interesting pic.

The coins appear to be hand stuck. That would date them back a long waze...............
