Abe’s Hidden Treasures

As a young one looking for interests an old one came to you and has shown you pieces of treasure and you are filled with excitement listening to a story of hidden treasures. The old one has shown several paths that have been taken in the search and you decide to journey the path to Abe’s hidden treasures.
You look into Abe’s eye that stairs away but see that he is not showing you where they are hidden or seeing your anguish from the hours, weeks and years in the search. It does not blink at the hundreds, thousands of photos blinding to a normal eye.
You look at Abe’s ear that is not listening to you beckon for help of any kind. He does not flinch at the screams and pounding of frustration when the search has yielded nothing.
You look at Abe’s mouth that does not speak but smiles holding back the secrets with a subtle Mona Lisa grin giving to the knowledge that his treasures are well hidden. It shows the only evidence that, he knows that this path will be long and difficult for you.
You look at the hair curled and unkempt from the years of watching over the hiding places that you have searched time and time again.
You look him straight on with a full view and then you think; maybe he has hidden them behind his bold presence. You turn to his eternal home and you find him there as well. He sets on his majestic throne watching over all who dare approach, unblinking and still, surrounded by the pillars showing the strength of his conviction to deprive you.
Are the treasures in the words surrounding and symbolizing his presence and stature? If they are, he has taken steps to make your search more difficult in the scaring wear and burial from passing hand to hand before finally reaching you, making your prospect of hope, like trying to remove gold from under the mountain.
You find there are moments of hope but only seeing errors of misdirection lain out to mislead by those bringing him closer to you and allowing you that growingly evident appearance of the futile chance to succeed.
The years have gone by and his vault is still hidden well. You have found minor pieces of his treasure, you feel have been seeded, to keep you searching for his amusement and pleasure.
You are getting old in the search, it slows, but must continue. You have found a small one with eyes that are not as dull and the strength to continue the search. The small one has seen the meager pieces gathered and you see the bright eyes widen with excitement when you tell the story of the hidden treasures.
The search continues.

Sounds like the story of your life, my life, (and actually, many other), lives. We all seem to see things differently, tho. Some of us seen to search for the glitter of gold. For others, the lowly cent will do. Some must have the very newest, while others will only accept the very ancient. They care not if it comes from the far east, or from the far west. Soon one learns that the old adage of the navigator, "East is least, while West is best"! The least thing one wants is to find his little jewel is a "counterfeit"!
Steven, you write an iteresting story. I, for one, will be looking forward for another "piece of your mind"!
Dick

Write your little heart out. We wouldn't be here if we didn't like to read. I really enjoyed your first effort, and will now wait patiently for the next.
