Just a quick guess ...

Looks sorta 'flat' (shelf like), which would indicate:

strike or machine doubling. Wink

I would have to agree that it is not die doubling. Machine doubling or sometimes ejection damage can cause such damage. If it were a doubled die the letters would have been larger. The letters are the same size as regular ones. Sorry Murph.

Thanks guys. I had seen this a couple times now and wondered what caused it. Didn't think it was anything worth keeping.

Its always good to ask. Better to know for sure than to kick yourself in the butt later when it was something. Put the Cent back to work.

I bought a couple of the bar Cents off ebay, so I could see what I was missing. But I think these are too minor to list. The lighting has to be just so to see these. So although I wasted my money on these, at least I know how I have to check coins in the future to see this kind of doubling.

Coop...those are really minor. We are looking for the bars to be at least as long as the statues arm with some good definition. I wish I knew you wanted some. I had a few extra I could have sent in one of your packages.

L & L (Live & Learn) Bob. It sometimes takes a bad experience to remember something. A lesson learned. It wasn't that much anyway. I just wasn't finding anything and I'm still not finding anything. Its always nice to see what the target looks like before you start shooting. Idea
