I'm just curious as to what caused this, haven't seen it befor.
All three picutres are of the same area, just different angles, just below the ear.
Any ideas?
(I'm thinking maybe counting wheel damage, but doesn't look right for that, to me.)

I can not tell from the photos for sure but it almost looks like die damage that is struck in to the coin. It will be interesting to see if any more of those show up.~lucky2

Die damage would stand outward from the coin. This looks like digs into the coin. Simple damage is all I see. What caused it would be anyone's guess.
