2005 with a "weak 2"...

While looking through a few rolls of pennies I can across a 2005 with a very weak 2 in the date. Is this worth hanging onto? What causes this to happen?

These are not usually worth holding on to unless the digit/letter is almost or completely gone. Normally, weak devices can come from die wear, , bad strikes, or something like a grease filled die. Of course, it is up to you to whether or not you want to hold onto it. Some folks do collect those things.
