Now this is what you call a plubicity stunt. Everbody and their brother and sister will be out searching for the 1914-D, 1909-S VDB and the 1908-S IHP. Don't know how this will effect the collecting end of this hobby, but I imagine people wil be going to the bank and asking for bunches of rolls (like me, Ha-Ha). It is going to be interesting .

I read it recently in one of the trades, but I can't find it and don't remember which one. I read Numismatist, CW, NN, COINage, an CCN. Probably wasn't CCN... LOL

I saw this on the pop-up AOL news just yesterday. These coins are being released in, of all places, New York city. I will give you ten to one odds that only one is ever found (wan-a -bees faking to have found one of these coins just for the publicity don't count ).

Yeah, I read it on the AOL Finance page. You're probably right. The most publicity this stunt is likely to receive is in the release of the coins and not the finding of them.
My uncle released back into circulation a bag of Indian Head pennies that my aunt had been saving for years. She STILL brings that up occasionally when she's a little perturbed at him, lol.

Everyone will be buying up the circulated Cents to look at them. The mint will have to increase output to make up with the ones hoarded. That means they will probably be making less Cents then next year...
