i have a question of the 1920s with a barely viewable mint mark
does anyone have a photo
i dont know how to insert one
but i would like to know more about it.

You will find that there are actually a large number of mintmarked early wheat cents with barely visible mintmarks, and some of the Philly examples out there could well be D or S mint coins with completely worn-away mintmarks. The problem, however, is that none of these coins are worth anything "extra" because in all years except 1922, the Philly mint made cents resulting in completely normal coins without mintmarks. This makes a comparison between an error mintmarked coin and a normal Philly mint coin impossible.

It is for this reason alone that the 1922D cent without a mintmark carries any premium value at all, and in my opinion sells for more than 100 times what it should.
