Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster (some of you may recognize me from other forums). I have a 1979-D Lincoln that appears to have an RPM. I have reference to an RPM#1 in the "RPM Book 2nd Ed. for Lincoln Cents" but I thought I would come get a specialist opinion over here. I know the pic isn't the best but what do you guys think? I'm seeing rotation with a split lower serif. Am I just seeing things?

Welcome ndgoflo,
This is the first time I have seen anyone ask about this one. The only reason I haven't is because I have found so many of these I thought it may be similar to the 52D broken punch that resulted in a similar split in the lower serif. I did keep several of them just in case I was wrong though
Won't be long and one of the best will come along with the answer I'm sure.
Steven

Steven hit this one right on the head. 1979D does have a broken punch mintmark, and the picture posted by ndgoflo does look like that particular one. However, there are a couple of 1979D RPMs. I believe I have one of them, and will attempt to post pictures here soon.,
