I was at our local coin swap meet yesterday and one of the reputable variety dealers there told me there's a 2006-D wide AM recently discovered and he said info on it was published but he didn't remember where.
Yea I know it could be real or non existing and I've not heard of wide AMs on any recent D cent before. I'm thinking it could be an over polished die causing sep between AM, the deciding fact would be the position of the initals FG. I don't know if it's a false alarm or it could be real.
Just wondering if anyone has heard of this, did anyone see info published on this?

Only thing I know of is a 'notice' put out in a private circle of folks to be on the watch for a new variety to be reported. I don't know what it was, but your report could be the first I have heard of this possible new big story. Interesting.

Hi Gary,
I also looked for an 06-d wide AM and not found one yet.
I heard that around the time that 06-d was mentioned some 92 close AMs were discovered and I suspected the guy that mentioned it might have got his story confused.
I'll ask him again where he heard it. I just haven't seen him recently because the building that our local swap meet is in got it's roof demolished in a storm and the meets were cancelled but when they get going again I'm sure I'll see him and ask him about it.
I've been hooked on looking for wide AMs too,

I think that the best place to find out would be feebay. if anyone has heard of or seen one it would be there by now. I am not going to stop looking because I check them all for other things like the bar I have found a few of them and the wavy steps that I have found only one of so it is not a total waste of time lol

I believe the story to which I was referring in my post near the beginning of this thread was the report of the 1992 close-AM cents. To this date I have heard nothing of any migratory reverse types more recent than 2000.
