Found this tonight and can't figure it out. I can't tell if it is listed or not. Looks similar to the 1DO-003 but I don't think the MM is in the right location, close. It has separation in the ERTY and notching in the lower right of IBER and upper left of the Y. Also notching to the lower left on the 195 of the date.

Looks similar to the one I have, but the mintmarks' shape looks different. On my example I have a few fading line from WE SE through head and east. There are some fading die scratches from back of head SW, but short. On the B in LIBERTY, there is a hint of doubling on the east edge of loops. The Lis very short and the I in very thin. Not much else to compare with it. The line on T seems to curve slightly. The mintmark has a very small split on the lower serif.

Doesn't sound like the same as yours. Although the L does look a little shorter than the rest of LIBERTY. I have light scratches running over most of the obv. from SW to NE. Like in the photo of the date I posted.

Thanks,
Steven

Those type of die scratches are fresh. Even thought they are fine, they flatten out quickly after a couple of hundred strikes. Have you tried overlaying the two images? That would tell you if it is the same die or not. If you can't, I'll give it a try tommorow. Getting late here.

No I haven't tryed it yet I was planning to tonight myself if I got the time but from what I have seen you can do a lot better job than I can with those overlays. I still have about twenty more wheats to look at tonight as well.
I would apprieciate any help.

Thanks
Steven

I did try the overlay with the 1DO-003 listed here and it is still too close for me to tell. It looks as though the MM on mine has a bit of a CCW tilt in comparison but not sure.

There are very many of this type of doubled die for 1957D. I have one in a flip with a Wexler number of 038! I have a bunch of these to attribute, but I will scan through my stash here and see if I can't match it up with one. That blob between the B and E of LIBERTY looks familiar, and I am not sure if it's an early state of a BIE cent.
