Here are a couple of different 1958-D Lincoln's for your feedback on the mint mark areas. Die gouges, RPM's, or perhaps something else??

The first item, due to the overall length of the extra bar, may be a die gouge. It seem to be a bit large for the vertical of the D mintmark.

The second item is very interesting and the first thing that popped into my mind was the start of an inverted D mintmark. This of course can be verified to a certain extent by the overlay method. The curve seems to be correct as does the straight edge which in this case would be the bottom edge if it were inverted. Bob is going to have to see to this one.

Nice finds.
