Thursday evening at 7PM central.
Go here to log in:
http://www.coppercoins.com/cgi-bin/chatpro.pl
Just type in a name we are familiar with, use any password you can remember, and choose to (or not to) put in your email address and submit.
BEFORE YOU START, READ THIS:
The chat here is a post-n-go type chat. It is NOT live. You type a message and post it, then click the 'reload' button to see newer posts. Post another message, then click 'reload' to see more posts...that's the way it works. You WILL NOT see responses to your posts automatically - you HAVE to hit the 'reload' button to see them.
A few ground rules about using the chat room:
1. Do not repeatedly hit the 'reload' button - once a minute is plenty. You can crash the chat by hitting it too much.
2. Do not let the chat sit for more than 15 minutes without hitting the 'reload' button. That will crash it. If you've left it alone for more than 15 minutes, click 'leave' then re-log in to see the new chat.
3. Please do not leave the chat by clicking the 'x' on your browser window. Nobody else will know you're gone, and will keep talking to you. Be courteous and hit the 'leave' button to log yourself out of the chat when you leave.
I know the chat will be a new experience to many of you, but if you're at all familiar with the eBay chat boards, it works all the same. I hope to see as many of you there as possible. If it so works out, we may do this weekly. It gives a more 'live' like environment to sit and shoot the breeze about coins and stuff.

Okay, that didn't quite work out...I'll start a new thread where we can vote for the best day/time here in the next week or two, and I would hope somebody shows up.
I couldn't be there this evening because of a critical family issue that came up this afternoon - not an emergency, nobody hurt, but I had to take care of it immediately and it took most of the evening.
Anyhow, watch for another thread to pop up on this subject.

Wait, Im confused. Chuck, was the get together yesterday or is it going to be on Thursday?
Your original post says Thursday, but from your last post, it seems to me that you thought it was yesterday (Tuesday).

Woops, how dumb of me. I need to get my "T' days straight. Yes, it is Thursday. I was thinking about it being on an evening where my son used to have soccer practice, and now that the season is over I'll have the evening free...well, he had practice on both Tuesday and Thursday.
Yes, it is Thursday - that's tomorrow!

I just went there to see what it was like. I don't use chat rooms, PERIOD, but I thought in this case I'd make an exception. I feel like I "know" you folks! See ya tomorrow, (if still active). Dick

Errorfinder, I know where you are, and enjoy the knowledge that the state has done something RIGHT for once! DST, NO WAY! Someone should have informed this country about "tropical hours" Set your alarm to compensate for the difference, and LET THE REST OF THE COUNTRY BE! DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME was the biggest mistake this country has ever made! I wonder how many Military careers were shot down, as a result? I know of one, for sure! Better quit while I can! One BITTER retiree! Sorry about ruining your day, folks, but that acronym is poison to me! See you in the chat TONIGHT! Regards,
Dick

Im a bit confused about the direction this threat is taking. Why are we venting our anger on the issue of daylight savings?

Sometimes when we speak out mind, it gets us off on a tanget that is like a dive bomber and it is hard/impossible to turn out. I think will reveal more another time. If we know where each other is coming from, the different backrounds can help paint the whole picture. Errorfinder, Dick and I all livehave lived in the same NON-daylight time zone. Makes it real confusing trying to figure out what time it is on the Arizona/Nevada border when you cross a bridge and gain/lose one hour. Must drive folks that live on one side or the other a hard time to figure out what time they need to be at work.
So back to the Chat tonight. I had to miss it, but wish it was all saved to catch up. Sometimes even at speed reading, you can't keep up when a lot are there. But its still GREAT!

Gabe, DST, cost me my "hat', and at least ten more years of my Naval career. It is a nasty subject, and definitely NOT worthy of a nice place like "our" chat. You were there last night. This was my first chat "room?", and I will be back!
Coop, I've been an Arizona boy since 1927, and proud of it! "We" may be a back-woody", behind times state, but we aren't so naive, as to accept the DST idea. I realize there are those of you who believe it is a good thing. Sorry, "old watashi" is not one. I think I'll go wash out my mouth!
