I'm a bit confused on the 72-P die 5.
I've always heard it was just the no value master doubling that is on many 72 cents.
But the CPG lists one (033.55) and says it replaced the old one and I saw Ken Potter also mentions them. Coneca lists it.
Here's one on ebay that was in a new ANACs holder as die-5 but pcgs would not holder it that way.
So it seems to me they replaced the master one with this one, is that the case or did they just re-number the master one, is it a real non master ddo variety?

(added this)
From looking at the CPG pictures it sure looks like that new die-5 is exactly like die-4 without the rim cuds... Could it be that the "rare" die 4 is just a state of this die-5????

I would assume it would be more likely that it's a different die than just an earlier stage of die #4.
You are correct, however, in that the master die doubling that used to be die #5 was replaced by a true douled die. I don't know much regarding its details, but I can tell you that $500 is a very far-fetched price for such a coin in MS64. I would think something closer to $50 would be more like it.

Thanks for the answer.
Yes I agree about the price. You can buy them in BU for $35-$55, I found someone selling them for that price.

I sure don't agree with ANACS grade! That thing looks like it has been run over. I wouldnt go more than EF40, and then I would be giving it the benefit of the doubt. It doesn't have the cuds in the rim, by liberty, either. Nope , not a die 4. Not that experienced, I cheated! I read the CPG, to see what they are talking about.
